Matthew Wilson Joins Industry Innovator to Support Expansion

West Sussex, December 7, 2017.

Foxhole Spirits today announces the appointment of Matt Wilson to the newly created role of sales manager.  Matt is the first sales manager for the company which launched in September 2016 with Foxhole Gin; the first gin to be distilled with a spirit made using English grapes, produced from the tonnes of pressed grapes wineries throw away every year.

Matt joins Foxhole Spirits from Puklavec Family Wines, where he held the position of UK&I sales manager & brand ambassador.  His key achievements include building distribution via key distributors Bibendum, Walker & Wodehouse and WoodWinters and driving new business at a national and regional level.

He brings to Foxhole Spirits a wealth of sales experience and knowledge from the wine trade. Highlights include a two-year tenure as South East regional account manager for Armit Wines, where he excelled at generating new business, building relationships and driving marketing–led activities, including consumer facing events.  Previously, Matt worked as sales account manager for Berkmann Wine Cellars where he built awareness of Berkmann’s agencies in the market.

At Foxhole Spirits, his main priority will be to identify new client accounts and expand existing relationships, supporting the company’s ambitious growth goals.

Co-founders of Foxhole Spirits, Sam Linter and James Oag-Cooper created this unique spirit after pursuing their passion for sustainability and utilising by-products of winemaking. Created using the rare and valuable by-products from English vineyards that have been repurposed through craft, skill and resourcefulness into a unique grape spirit. Foxhole Gin takes 8,760 hours to make; a full grape growing season, a long fermentation and six distillations in a hand built copper still.

Along with the grape spirit, this premium London Dry Gin is also infused with the botanicals Juniper, Coriander, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Liquorice Root, Bitter Orange, Fresh Lemon Zest, Grapefruit Zest, Angelica Seed and diluted with natural spring water.

Foxhole Gin takes its name from the narrow, winding Foxhole Lane that leads to the vineyards that the grapes are sourced from.
