West Sussex, March 2016.
Foxhole Spirits is today proud to announce the release of the second batch of Foxhole Gin, the first ever gin distilled with English wine grapes picked from Sussex vineyards.
Since its launch in September 2016, Foxhole Gin has gone from strength to strength, gaining a dedicated following with the trade and gin drinkers – who respect the humble origins – and enjoy the unique taste of this handcrafted and small batch spirit.
Every one of the 960 hand-numbered bottles of Foxhole Gin’s first ever batch have sold out and it is now listed by multiple stockists and distributors, a mixture of online stores, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.
Released this month, batch 2 – although made in the same sustainable way as the first, with the by-products of winemaking – has a fruit character from the grape spirit which is slightly more pronounced, due to the quality of the 2015 grape harvest.
To ensure that all 1,920 bottles of batch 2 achieve the perfect flavour balance and consistent quality, Foxhole Spirits has worked closely with its partner winery’s head winemaker and master distiller to combine their skills, experience and artistry.
James Oag-Cooper, co-founder of Foxhole Spirits said: “No two grape vintages are the same, our raw material changes from year to year so it’s really interesting to taste the subtle variations of batch 2. The quality and the perfect flavour balance of Foxhole Gin are characteristics that don’t alter, so we know that existing customers will continue to enjoy it and new customers will love it.”
James continues: “We launched Foxhole Spirits with passion and determination to not only produce spirits which taste great but to promote sustainability across the drinks industry and reduce industry waste. Batch 1 was a success – both in terms of production and how the gin has been received – and it’s that success which propels us to continue on our journey.”
Foxhole Gin is available through www.foxholespirits.com and a selection of independent retailers and bars from £40.
